More than 50 charges — Two Kannapolis men face 11 charges in Kannapolis

After Rowan County sheriff’s deputies accused two Kannapolis men of a number of break-ins in Rowan, Kannapolis police also opened their own investigation.
Detective David Miller said the men face more than 50 charges altogether — 30 by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, 16 to 17 by the Cabarrus Sheriff’s Office and 11 from Kannapolis.
Miller said Tony Duckworth, 32, and Brian Mishak, 51, who both lived at of 1802 W. C St., have cooperated with his investigation, to the point that they have admitted to some crimes that homeowners didn’t know had been committed or hadn’t reported.
So far, Miller said he has filed 10 charges against Duckworth and Mishak together and one involving just Mishak. Together they are charged with the following crimes in Kannapolis:
• Felony theft of an all-terrain vehicle and trailer from Ronald Lyle Goodman, 202 Fisher St.
• Felony theft of an all-terrain vehicle and mini-bike from Steven Dwayne Norris, 729 Fisher St.
• Felony theft of a lawn mower from Connietta Bennett, 1408 N. Ridge Ave.
• Misdemeanor theft of tires and tools from Vic Stirewalt, at Stirewalt’s Garage, 507 W. 17th St.
• Misdemeanor theft of tires from Maurice Lee Overcash Jr., 4821 Buddy Lane.
• Felony theft of a lawnmower from Christine H. Litaker, 1201 Rainbow Drive.
• Felony theft of a lawn mower from Hanna J. Hilton, 226 Gurley St.
• Felony breaking and entering and theft of jewelry from David R. Winecoff Jr., 4921 Rogers Lake Road.
• Felony breaking and entering and theft of tools and a pressure washer from Clarence L. Petrea, 4315 Forestridge Lane.
• Felony breaking and entering and theft of jewelry from Vernon Drye, 1708 Oakwood Ave.
By himself, Mishak is charged with misdemeanor theft of a license plate from King Chevrolet.

• On April 3, Rick Schell, of Orleans Home Builders, 700 Forest Point Circle, Charlotte, reported thieves struck at two homes under construction on Streamhaven Court in Harrisburg.
At 7206 Streamhaven, suspects caused $250 in damage to two heating-air conditioning units and stole $4,000 in copper tubing. At 7210 Streamhaven, they took $1,000 in items. Deputy Torelli.

Someone pried open the driver’s side door of Fisher’s car, causing $500 damage, though no items were missing.

• On April 8, Mickey Cochran, of BB&T, 5145 Poplar Tent Road, Concord, reported someone deposited a fraudulent $1,400 check and then withdrew $2,888.47. Deputy Burchett.
