20-year-old man jailed on break-ins, drug charges
A Kannapolis man is being held under $100,000 bond in the Cabarrus County Jail after being charged with two break-ins and two drug offenses. Kannapolis police officers arrested Roger Dale Connell, 20, 802 Rogers Lake Road, on Oct. 6. He is charged with two counts each of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering, and one count of possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana and misdemeanor possession of a schedule VI controlled substance. According the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office Web site, Connell, who previously lived at 1510 Oakshade Ave., was arrested late in 2007 on charges of driving while impaired and with no operator’s license and carrying a concealed weapon. He served three months in the county jail and was sentenced to time served on those charges. In March 2007, according to the Sheriff’s Office, Connell was charged with breaking or entering, resisting an officer and violating probation on a previousl case in Rowan County.
