Fire Station One open house is Saturday

On Saturday, the Kannapolis Fire Department will offer an open house at Fire Station One to help kickoff National Fire Prevention Week.

The event will feature kids’ arts and crafts, a bucket brigade course for kids, the fire safety house, a firetruck slide, firefighter demonstrations, fire extinguisher training, the Danger Rangers and a special program for seniors.

The event will run from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Fire Station One is located at 300 Firehouse Drive, Kannapolis.

As a part of the open house, the Fire Department will also offer “Remembering When,” a senior adult fire and falls prevention curriculum. The Fire Department will offer the fire portion of the program on Saturday. It will start at 11 a.m. and last for about 45 minutes.  Participants will receive free fire safety information and materials.
