Thomas Hathcock

CONCORD — Thomas Gerald Hathcock, 86, formerly of Cline Street, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at CMC-NorthEast. Born Nov. 12, 1921, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Rev. Adam A. and Cora Smith Hathcock. He was a charter member of Brookdale Baptist Church where he had taught Sunday school and was a deacon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving for 18 years, and was a member of DAV Chapter 27. He retired from Cannon Mills in 1983 after 40 years of service. Survivors include brother James Olin Hathcock of Huntersville. A service was held Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Brookdale Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mike Hubbard. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park, with military rites by Cabarrus County Honor Guard, . Memorials: Brookdale Baptist Church, 2511 S. Ridge Ave., Kannapolis, NC 28083.
