Briefs - Bakers Creek Park tennis courts closed temporarily for maintenance
The tennis courts at Bakers Creek Park in Kannapolis have been closed for maintenance since last week.
The courts are being resurfaced and should reopen for play again on Nov. 3, the first Monday of the month.

Crooks at Lowe’s
Bethany Crooks, the 18-year-old Statesville native and local Christian singer, will perform the national anthem Thursday, Oct. 30, for the World of Outlaws World Finals at Lowes Motor Speedway. The event begins at 7 p.m.
