Lillie Snider
SALISBURY — Lillie Segraves Snider, 100, Trinity Oaks, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 21, 1908, in Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel B. and Elizabeth Owens Segraves.
Mrs. Snider was educated in the Davie County schools and was a homemaker.
She was a member of No Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Davie County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rufus Snider Sr., on Nov. 3, 1982; and daughter Clara Snider Simerson on Feb. 17, 1988.
Survivors include sons Samuel B. Snider, Virginia Beach, Va., William R. Snider Jr., Robert L. and Harold Snider, all of Salisbury; daughters Jean Thompson, Salisbury, Virginia Snider Beck, Burlington, Doris Lentz, China Grove; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial was held Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at Summersett Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Graham officiating. The funeral was Thursday, Oct. 31, 2008, at No Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Eddie Fowler officiating. Burial, church cemetery.
