Mary Simmons

KANNAPOLIS — Mary Charlotte Willoughby Simmons, 82, 839 Burrage Road N.E., Concord, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008.
Born May 29, 1926, in Canton, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Malisa Smith Willoughby. She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church, where she had been a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of Falling Water Presbyterian Church, West Virginia.
Survivors include husband Curtis R. Simmons; daughters Sherry A. Kimbrell, West Virginia, and Mary D. Hathcock, New London; brother James W. Willoughby, Brandon, Miss.; sister Lou Screen, Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A service was held Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Kim E. Trabold, the Rev. David Giles and Dr. Tom Snipes. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park.
